Create Financial Institution to Link Multiple Accounts

gear-solid.svg Role Required: Bank Connect Administrator

After the first account is Connected and bank transactions are imported, you can use the Financial Institution feature in Sage to map your remaining bank accounts all at once.

Step 1: Set up a Financial Institution

  1. The first bank account needs to be enabled via the ‘traditional’ bank feeds method as described in Enabling Bank Feeds. Once that is completed, go to Cash Management → Setup → Financial institution and create a new Financial Institution. This allows the user to create a connection to the bank.

  2. Click Add to create a new Financial Institution. When prompted, enter an ID and Name. We recommend using the name of your bank for easy identification. Then, map the account you want to link to the new Financial Institution. Click Save and continue.

Step 2: Map Accounts for Bank Feeds

After you've added your new Financial Institution, you can now map additional accounts.

  1. Click Map accounts and select which accounts are to be enabled on bank feeds. You can backdate transactions up to 30 days. Once you've selected the accounts and transaction start date, click Map to save account mapping.
There is a 60-minute limit to complete this step. If this action is not completed within 60 minutes, the connection process will fail, and the account will remain in a ‘Pending’ state with no transactions coming in.

If you've already backdated and received bank feeds for an account, this will likely cause duplicate transactions.

Step 3: Confirm Bank Feeds

  1. After mapping the accounts, you can check on their status by navigating to Cash Management → Setup → Financial institution.

  2. Select Edit or View for the Financial institution. The Banking Cloud Status will display a Connected status when an account has been successfully mapped.

  3. Transactions can be viewed by navigating to Cash Management → Transactions → Banking transactions.

  4. To view transactions for a single account, navigate to the Banking Cloud tab for the account.
